Mandala art is more than 2,000 years old! It is found in many cultures and used in many different Religious practices.
Mandala is an ancient Sanskrit word derived of the root ‘man+da’ meaning essence. The la at the words end, translates to vessel or
container. We use the same root ‘man’ in English to describe ourselves man+kind, an essence within a kindred. Man-tra is an essence
captured within a sound. Man+da+la therefore is an essence held within a vessel, the sacred circle of life.
